Brushed Brass Shower Enclosures
A brushed brass shower enclosure, shower fixture or piece of bathroom hardware seems to be high on many bathroom wish lists these days.
The finish is a little more contemporary than a gold shower enclosure. Plus developments in coating technology mean that the finish will look great for longer.
Brushed brass showers are also easier to maintain as the matt look attracts fewer fingerprints than say a polished chrome finish. When it does need cleaning a simple 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water will have your bathroom hardware looking like new.
Brass in general is a metal that resists rust and corrosion, hence why it is used internally with taps and showers even if it isn't used on the surface.
Brands such as Aquadart, Aquaglass, Nuie and Hudson Reed have embraced the brushed brass shower finish, adding it to door hardware, showers, mirrors, and bath and basin taps. Now that the finish is more widely available the cost of shower panels has significantly reduced, as with these from the Kartell Ottone range.
Of course, you can mix and match with brands but for a matching brushed brass finish, you might be better off going with a single manufacturer.
